JFA is proud to support our client, the YWCA of the Greater Capital Region, with a Gold Sponsorship as they commit to Ride Against Racism.
This is the YWCA’s first Ride Against Racism (RaR) event and is a part of their broader Stand Against Racism event, held each year at over 200 sites across the United States. RaR exemplifies the YWCA’s commitment to racial justice and civil rights. Their mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all strongly resonates with our team, and we have proudly served their organization since 2007. JFA’s own Lisa Lagon serves as Chair of the Board of Directors.
This local event will take place on Saturday, May 1, 2021 along the Mohawk-Hudson Bike trail. Those who would like to participate virtually may do so. There will be staff members stationed along the trail during the listed times to distribute swag bags, food and water to registered participants.
While a bike ride alone cannot end racism, it will provide an opportunity for our community to come together in solidarity and display our united support for the empowerment of women, and our stand against injustice, prejudice and discrimination.
